The Dutch celebrate both Christmas and Sinterklaas. No Sinterklaas celebration is complete without some traditional treats, like taai taai, speculaas items, pepernoten, and kruidnoten. Taai taai are chewy gingerbread cookies with a slight licorice flavour. We sell taai cookies, as well as taai poppen (dolls) and kleuter taai (small dolls). Speculaas brokken are giant gingerbread cookies, while gevulde speculaas are filled with a creamy almond paste. Modderman pepernoten (pepernotjes) and Bolletje kruidnoten (kruidnotjes) are small half-sphere gingerbread cookies; also available is oud-hollandse (old-style) pepernoten. We also have a wide selection of Christmas chocolates. By far the most popular are the chocolate letters; people enjoy receiving their first or last initial as a stocking stuffer or gift. We sell Droste and de Heer chocolate letters, as well as Ringers sugar-free letter "S". We have Eka brandy beans and Donkers & van Dongen rum beans, as well as delicious wreaths and various shaped chocolates from Baronie and deHeer. Try our delicious marzipan products as well. We carry chocolate covered marzipan bars, as well as marzipan in fun shapes. Many customers enjoy our roomfondant, cream fondant pieces. We also sell tasty baked goods; almond sticks (logs) and rings are light pastries filled with almond paste, while kerst stollen is almond paste filled bread. And of course, no New Year's celebration is complete without oliebollen. We carry oliebollen mixes from Koopmans and Atlanta to make these traditional deep-fried pastries.
