Vegetables:To Thicken Leafy Vegetables i.e.. Endive, Leek, Spinach, Witlof, (chicorei) etc.) Boil or steam the vegetables as you would normally. Stir a little bit of the Honig Thickener thru the vegetables to make it to the desired thickness, adding more of the Thickener as needed. Cook the vegetables for 1 more minute or until they are soft. | ||||||
Basic Sauce:Bring 3 ¼ cups (300mL) water, stock, and/or milk to a boil. Stir in 25 –30gr. (7/8 – 1 1/8 oz.) of Thickener (approx. 4 level tablespoons) with a whisk. Cook the sauce for 1 minute. Add some salt and spices to taste. | ||||||
Tips & Variations:Add 1 or 2 tablespoons of cream for a creamier sauce. Great for cauliflower, Brussels sprouts or other vegetable dishes. | ||||||
