Ingredients:

1 Package Honig French Onion Soup
1 ½ L (6 3/8 cups) Cold Water

Directions:

  1. Put the cold water in a soup pan, and then mix in the soup package.
  2. Bring the soup to a boil with the lid partially on.
  3. Let the soup cook for 10 minutes, stirring occasionally.

Tips and Variations

Extra good with fresh leek cut into rings.

For Gevulde Uiensoep ( filling onion soup) :
Prepare the soup as above, but add the following ingredients as soon as the soup starts boiling:
1 can mushrooms (approx. 250gr (8 7/8 oz))
100gr (3 ½ oz) cooked ham, cut into small pieces
At the end of the cooking time add:
2 tbsp (30mL) finely chopped chives
